Practice In Perspective

Hello there!

So for the past month or so, I've been working in depth with perspective, doing a lot of research and practice, learning things about it I'd always wanted to know how to do, but never did.  I found a fantastic book called Theory and Practice of Perspective by G.A. Storey.  It's an amazing book, and the best on perspective that I've ever seen.  I highly recommend it to anyone who has a mind to get better at this often unappreciated area of expertise.  It's helped me monumentally.  I'm nearly through the book now.  The last section is all about shadows, and reflections, and the like.  So here are just a few of the drawing that have come of my practice.  Expect more in the future, and after I'm done with this book, the things I've learned from this book will most definitely show up in my other work!

Hope you're all well!

This is the first page of a personal project I'm working on, involving the show The Legend of Korra.  I have a few subsequent pages planned for the project, and I'll get them done and post them as soon as I can!

Hope you all enjoy this!

This is a piece celebrating my friendships with the members of The Crack Pack, :icontrishna87:, :icongreenifyme:, :iconrizcifra:, and :icondramaelfie:, as well as :icongreen-desire: and :iconxshadesxofxgreyx:. I met Sarah, Riza, Kimmy, and Alicia on this say four years ago in Irrel's Zutarian Chat Room, when the topic of discussion was the finale spoilers released in that premature book adaptation. Meeting those folks that day led me to meeting Farah and Erica as well. We've come up with a lot of crack over the years and I could them each among my best friends. This is celebrating all the great times we have together thus far, and looks toward a future filled with even more crack.

As such, it's basically composed of a bunch of inside jokes that would be hard for ME to even name all of if I hadn't made this myself. If you spot some things you recognize, let me know. If you want research, you can look through my gallery, as well as all of their's if you really want to do a Where's Waldo? kind of search thing XD Even then, some of this stuff isn't even on dA.

If you want to read a looooong sentimental companion explanation to this, you can check out the entry on my tumblr: [link]

Drawn with pencil, inked a Sakura Pigma Sensei  04, and colored and lettered in Photoshop.

If you want to see a larger version, you can view the full size file on my deviantART page here

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this. I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out.

Everything copywritten within this picture © Whoever owns it. There's toooo much stuff here. And that would also be spoiling the Where's Waldo? fun.

Small Planar Head Sculpture

Here's a turnaround of a head sculpture I've been working on.  A small planar form head to assist in head drawing.  Having made it, I can see all the mistakes and flaws I made in its construction, so next time I'll be able to construct a better sculpture.  But this will help me out quite nicely, I do believe.  I think I'll finally do a simple head form in sculpy soon so I'll have that basic form around whenever I need it.

Anyway, here ye go!

Inaugural Korra Fanart

Heyo again!

So here is my first official Korra fanart after watching the first two episodes online!  They're absolutely amazing and it is so wonderful to be watching the splendid work of the Avatar team once more.  It's like I'm back in 2008 all over again.  Stupendous stuff, and I cannot waaaaait to see more!

My friend Farah wanted some Korra art and I wanted to draw some anyway, so I drew Korra a water tribe/20's style outfit, since the show runs into asian style dieselpunk territory.  I'm pretty happy with it.  Just sort of whipped it a couple days ago, and now it's here.

Hope you all enjoy, and be sure to check out Korra on Nick when it comes out on April 14th!  It's gonna be JAWSOMMMME!

The Janus Machine Development Art

Hello everyone!

It's been too long since I've updated here, but I rarely have time to do so while I'm in school.  Now that I've finished up my winter classes, I wanted to upload some of the work I've done in the interim.  This post consists of various work that I've created in the past quarter to develop a neo-noir sci-fi story idea of mine called The Janus Machine.  You'll see character designs, environments, props, fashion, and more here.  I'm looking forward to working on this story more in the future, so keep a look out!

Without further ado, let's jump right in!

Here's the male protagonist, a private detective named Sam Carnehan:

This is the female protagonist, Isidrid Riad:

Here's the primary antagonist, Lucio Altieri:

And here is another protagonist, Dr. Perry Warner:

And here's a line-up of all four:
Here's an environment showing the sort of classy 20's art deco feel I'm working to incorporate into the world:
Here is some of how I've designed future fashion in this world:
And here's a bit of technology that will play a major part in the story and the world it inhabits:
That's all for now, but I'm looking to get a lot of work done in the near future, so keep watch here and I will do my best to do my best!
